Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Josef Frost (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Jacobs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Josef Frost!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, John Jacobs!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, Richard Clark and Phil Schofield.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jacobs shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Frost defends it nicely.
Jacobs misses with a head kick.

Frost pushes Jacobs off and scrambles back to his feet.
Frost shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Jacobs fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Frost is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Jacobs.
Jacobs gets off balance looking for a body kick
and Frost counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Jacobs is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Jacobs shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
It looked like Frost was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Josef Frost has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Jacobs.
Jacobs looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Frost is fending him off so far but Jacobs persists. Nope, Frost circles away and we're back to standing.

Jacobs has managed to clinch.
Frost has had enough of the clinch but Jacobs keeps him there for the moment.

Frost breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Frost closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Jacobs to the mat! Jacobs manages to get full guard.

Frost seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Jacobs for as long as he can get away with.

Jacobs looking to hit a scissor sweep but Frost is one step ahead there.
Frost is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Frost will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

and Jacobs counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Frost is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jacobs is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Frost jumps into side control!

Jacobs dives in for a single leg takedown but Frost sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Frost closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Frost is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jacobs can do to turn this around?
Jacobs takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Frost controls the position from side control.
Jacobs is trying to get back to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Frost has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Jacobs is looking to regain half guard here but Frost keeps moving and retains side control.
Jacobs is breathing heavily.

Frost decides to stand up, so the ref orders Jacobs to his feet.
Jacobs fails with the takedown.
Frost seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Jacobs wants to clinch
and Frost counters with a head kick.
Jacobs misses with an attempted mid kick.
Frost looks for a takedown but Jacobs sprawls well.
Frost will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jacobs keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jacobs steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Frost.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!


Jacobs doesn't manage to clinch there - Frost circles away.
Frost tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Jacobs manages to circle out of the way.
Jacobs throws a combination. Frost tries to block but a couple of punches get through.
Frost changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jacobs tries to avoid it but Frost manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jacobs to the ground. Jacobs escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Jacobs fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Frost, pushing him back against the cage.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Jacobs using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Frost has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

Frost's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Frost cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Jacobs tries to close the distance and clinch up but Frost swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jacobs doesn't manage to clinch there - Frost circles away.
Frost is looking to counter the offense by Jacobs and move into the clinch.

Frost shoots in but no luck this time.

Jacobs has closed the distance and engaged Frost in a clinch.
Jacobs wants to break the clinch but can't.
Jacobs fails to pull guard.
Frost slows down the pace here.

Frost tightens his grip and picks Jacobs up, before dumping him to the ground. Jacobs manages to land in guard.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Jacobs is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Frost slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
More hug and hope from Frost.

Jacobs working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Frost doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Frost manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Frost stays in close to Jacobs's body and controls the position.

Frost landing some decent shots from guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
John Jacobs seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jacobs tries to score a power double leg takedown but Frost sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jacobs somewhat.
Jacobs throws a head kick that misses.
Jacobs fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Josef Frost has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Jacobs.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Frost changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Jacobs looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Jacobs tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Frost is riding his opponent, not letting Jacobs buck him off.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
John Jacobs has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Josef Frost is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Josef Frost.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Frost, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
