Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luigi Helmut (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Very Rounded (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Helmut comes to the cage accompanied by Make It Wit Chu - Queens Of The Stone Age. Very Rounded has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rounded fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Helmut shoots for a double leg takedown but Rounded sprawls well. He's pushed Helmut's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Helmut shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Rounded napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Helmut tries to move into full mount but can't pass Rounded's legs.
Rounded is trying to control Helmut's posture but Helmut avoids it.

Helmut wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Rounded, who protects the arm well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rounded is trying to escape the position but Helmut is controlling the position.

Helmut is looking to take a break and control but Rounded is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Helmut tries to move to mount but Rounded blocks the move with his legs.

Helmut is working hard here to advance position.
Rounded tries to get back to half guard but can't.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Rounded regains half guard, as Helmut was trying to land strikes.
Helmut is pressing down on Rounded's thigh, looking to free his foot. Rounded is holding on for now.

Helmut moves nicely into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rounded is trying to control Helmut's posture but Helmut avoids it.
Rounded stops Helmut from passing to mount.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
A big right from Rounded misses.
Helmut swats away the attempt to clinch by Rounded.
Helmut throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rounded's waist but Rounded gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Helmut off to one side.
Helmut rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Rounded moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Helmut.
Rounded is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Luigi Helmut. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Rounded moves into the clinch successfully.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rounded lands a body punch in the clinch.

Helmut has clasped his hands together around Rounded's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.

That was a close round but I would say that Luigi Helmut will probably get the nod.

A chopping leg kick lands by Rounded.

Helmut shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Rounded is trying to defend but Helmut finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Helmut seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Rounded does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Rounded is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

We've been hearing good reports from Helmut's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Rounded is looking to improve his position but Helmut isn't that keen on the idea.

Helmut can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Rounded is looking to escape.
Luigi Helmut overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rounded tries to lock up and control but Helmut gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Rounded is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Helmut is staying active.
