Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Ghenki Sudo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carl Laul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Carl Laul acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ghenki Sudo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Carl Laul!
The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Shigeki Sano and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Laul misses with an uppercut.
Sudo fires out a quick counter leg kick but Laul just manages to avoid it.

Laul gets tackled into the cage by Sudo. Sudo maintains the clinch.
Sudo is trying to break the clinch but Laul is controlling him.
Laul will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Sudo up against the cage.

Sudo pulls guard successfully.
Laul lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Laul postures up.
Laul controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Laul trying to stand up but can't free himself from Sudo's guard.
Laul is in close to Sudo's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Laul's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Sudo wants to stand and escape but Laul is having none of it.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Sudo throws a counter high kick but Laul was just alert enough to avoid it.

Sudo gets caught flat footed, as Laul shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Laul slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Laul wants to stand but Sudo is controlling his posture from full guard.
Laul passes Sudo's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Laul keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Sudo tries to roll over but Laul keeps him under control.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Laul in particular looking to stall.

Sudo tries to get to full guard but Laul has control of the leg.
Sudo gets full guard.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Laul's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Laul chips away with some ground and pound.
Laul tries to free his leg and advance position but Sudo is retaining full guard.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Laul stays in close to Sudo's body and controls the position.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Sudo shoots in but Laul avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Laul tries to score a power double leg takedown but Sudo sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Laul somewhat.
Sudo went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Sudo tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Laul swivels and escapes.
Laul looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

and Sudo counters with a three punch combo that has Laul backing up. Laul nods at Sudo to acknowledge the strikes.
Laul throws a head kick that misses.
Sudo appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.
Sudo shoots in but Laul avoids the takedown attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Carl Laul dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and Laul counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Laul.
Laul is trying to break free.
Sudo is trying to pull guard but Laul turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Laul tries a knee to the head but Sudo blocks it.
Laul can't find room to land a body shot as Sudo controls the action.
Laul looking to throw knees to the head but Sudo is blocking nicely.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Sudo is struggling to control the position.
Laul jumps guard but Sudo turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Sudo tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Laul smiles and moves away.

Sudo closes the distance and clinches up with Laul, looking for a takedown. Sudo pushes Laul against the cage but Laul circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Sudo displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Laul.
It looked like Sudo was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Sudo moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Laul moves into the clinch.
Sudo tries to stall but Laul uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Sudo is trying to drag Laul to the mat but Laul just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Laul ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Laul no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Laul wants to get back to his feet but Sudo passes into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sudo is stalling here. Laul is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Sudo seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Laul has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Sudo is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Laul off and has taken his back!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Laul wants to get back to his feet.
Laul is trying to break free.
Sudo is trying to stick to Laul's back but Laul is turning into Sudo. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Sudo's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Laul.
Sudo wants to sweep here but Laul controlling him for the moment.

Sudo has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Laul off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Laul has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.
Sudo is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Laul misses with a wild combination.
Laul slaps away a takedown attempt from Sudo, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Laul is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sudo's half guard.
Sudo is looking for a sweep. Laul is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Sudo is trying to maintain the position but Laul is very close to passing his half guard.

Laul's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Laul is thwarting Sudo's attempts to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but Carl Laul will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

BOOM! Laul connects with a massive shot to the dome!

The crowd hopeful of a finish here - Laul's supporters are on their feet, screaming for him to go for the rear naked choke.

What can Sudo do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Laul has his foot on Sudo's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Sudo works his way back into a safe position though.

I would just about give that final round to Carl Laul.
