Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Altare (ranked 851 p4p, 132 weight class) and Bruno Aires (ranked 362 p4p, 54 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 12 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, John Altare!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 16 - 1, fighting out of New York, Bruno Aires!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Richard Clark and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aires shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Aires has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Aires has a takedown stuffed.
Altare tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Aires manages to circle out of the way.
Aires lands a nice looking body shot.
Nice shot lands for Aires.
Altare lands a jab.
Altare tries to clinch up.
Aires ducks under a wild hook from Altare.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Aires working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Altare doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Altare manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Aires is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Altare dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

Aires postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Aires wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Altare, who protects the arm well.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Aires goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Altare rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Aires's guard! Nice work there by Altare!

Aires is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Aires has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Altare can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Aires wants to control but Altare is keeping busy.
Aires wants to get back to full guard.
Aires has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Altare is working away from the top position though.
Aires keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.
Altare stalling away here and it's allowed Aires to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.

Aires pulls Altare in close to prevent any damage.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

Altare got a little sloppy there for a moment and Aires has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Altare has managed to get both his arms back between Aires's legs - danger averted.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Altare has a couple of punches blocked by Aires.
Aires tries to work over Altare's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
John Altare has scored more points in the clinch so far.
Altare lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Aires's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Aires scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Altare bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Aires's head backwards.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Aires moves out of range of the strikes.
Aires keeps the fight on the outside.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Altare throws a lazy right hand but Aires sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Aires avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Altare misses the body punch
enabling Aires to counter with a crisp jab.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to John Altare.
I think Altare has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
