The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sirinto throws a head kick but Bates moves out of range.
We've been told by Bates's head coaches at Ferocious Beast that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Bates connects with a looping right hand.
Sirinto tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Bates manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Bates takes the fight into the clinch.
Sirinto throws an elbow but it misses.
Bates lands a hook that snaps the head of Sirinto backwards.
Sirinto pushes off and fires off an elbow that misses, before clinching up again, against the cage.
Sirinto jumps guard but Bates stands there with Sirinto around his waist. Sirinto gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Sirinto is trying to pull guard but Bates has him pressed against the cage.
