Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between David Tidwell (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cole Trickle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tidwell comes to the cage accompanied by Papercut. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Tidwell!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Cole Trickle!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tidwell feints and as Trickle raises his hands in defense, Tidwell changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Trickle is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Tidwell advances to half guard.
Trickle makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Trickle.
Tidwell wants to pass the guard but Trickle is keeping the position.
Tidwell wants to control from the top but Trickle keeps moving.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Trickle tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Trickle has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Trickle is staying tight to Tidwell's torso, preventing him from escaping.

Trickle is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Tidwell is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Tidwell is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Trickle off and has taken his back!
Trickle wants to control his opponent's hands but Tidwell gets his hands free.
Trickle rolls, trying to escape but Tidwell keeps control of the position.
Trickle turns into Tidwell and is now in his guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tidwell is looking for a triangle but Trickle pushes his legs off easily.

Tidwell had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Trickle is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Tidwell Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Trickle's back instead.

Trickle is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Tidwell gets his way!

Tidwell has got his arm under Trickle's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Trickle has spun round into Tidwell's guard beautifully! Well done that man!

Trickle winds up and cracks Tidwell with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Trickle is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Cole Trickle has got the better of the ground game so far.

Trickle frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Tidwell defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Trickle.
Trickle lands a big shot there that rocks Tidwell but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Trickle prevents Tidwell from getting the reversal.
Trickle trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Tidwell tries to lock up and control but Trickle gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Tidwell keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.

Cole Trickle showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!

Tidwell is pressing down on Trickle's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Trickle drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Trickle as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Tidwell screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Trickle! Nice submission victory there!
