Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Qasim Barakat (ranked 918 p4p, 109 weight class) and Lennart Lennartsson (ranked 933 p4p, 112 weight class). Lennartsson comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Bruno Mars - Runaway Baby kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Lennart Lennartsson told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A nice inside leg kick there by Barakat. That's going to slow Lennartsson down.
Barakat works Lennartsson's body with a nice hook.
Barakat throws a head kick that misses.
Lennartsson avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Lennartsson swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Barakat moves into range and connects with a jab.
Barakat lands a nice looking kick to the body. Lennartsson takes a step back to recover.
Barakat lands with an overhand left.
Barakat cracks Lennartsson with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Barakat scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Lennartsson doesn't seem bothered though.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Barakat connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Lennartsson misses with a lunging right hand
and Barakat counters with a good low kick that Lennartsson was not able to check.
Nice uppercut there from Barakat.

Lennartsson takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Lennartsson takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Good leg kick by Barakat there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
A head kick by Barakat misses

and Lennartsson counters with a nice right hand that sends Barakat toppling to the canvas! Barakat scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Lennartsson finish him?!

Barakat is rocked!
Barakat is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Lennartsson finds Barakat's off switch, with a big overhand right that connects perfectly to the side of the head! Barakat flops back against the cage, eyes gazing into the distance. Lennartsson lands an unnecessary shot before the referee has time to step in and end the fight. Brutal stuff but I'm sure Barakat will be OK.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:30 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Lennart Lennartsson!
Lennart Lennartsson gave a mention to Sin City Allstars in his post fight interview. That will please them (and hopefully generate some sales).
