Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rafael Dominguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eduardo David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). David has chosen Saturdays Celebration as his entrance music. Eduardo David has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Rafael Dominguez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo David!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Paulo Santos and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dominguez fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
David is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
Dominguez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Dominguez shoots in for a takedown but David shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
David throws a right and a left that both miss.
Dominguez seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Dominguez drives through with a takedown into David's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dominguez won't allow David to get back to his feet.
Dominguez is standing up over David. David looks to escape but Dominguez dives into side control.
David is trying to buck Dominguez off.

David really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dominguez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
David is not in a great position here, taking some shots.

Dominguez tries for a kimura but David is defending well.

Dominguez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by David, who protects the arm well.
David is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Dominguez asserts his dominance and retains side control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if David can do anything to dispel that myth.

Dominguez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but David is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
David is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Dominguez has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Dominguez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Dominguez is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but David is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
David is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Dominguez is controlling him well.

David sneaks out the side door and pushes Dominguez away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

Dominguez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
David is loading up here, looking for a big counter of his own.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rafael Dominguez. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dominguez doesn't succeed with the takedown
and David counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Dominguez shoots for a double leg takedown but David sprawls well. He's pushed Dominguez's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
David feints with a jab and clips Dominguez right behind the ear with a massive overhand right! Dominguez is sent crashing into the canvas and David leaps in for the kill! Dominguez tries to get to his feet but David is just battering him from every conceivable angle. The ref decides that Dominguez is in need of a savior and steps in!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eduardo David!
Eduardo David decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
