The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Soriano is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sargent's half guard.
Soriano is taking a breather. Sargent says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Soriano has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The referee warns Sargent that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Sargent is desperately trying to improve his position but Soriano has a good base and remains in mount.

Soriano postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Sargent looks a forlorn figure.

Soriano wants to finish this one by submission but Sargent is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Soriano.
Soriano loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Sargent scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Soriano land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Soriano stands and salutes the crowd.
