The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shermann throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Riverson's waist but Riverson gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Shermann off to one side.
Riverson stuffs the takedown attempt from Shermann. Shermann gets slowly back to his feet.
John Riverson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Shermann is trying hard to land a takedown here. Riverson sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.

Riverson throws a head kick that looked like it stung.

Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Riverson! Shermann is out on his feet! Riverson rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Shermann is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Shermann is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.
