Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Duncan Chavez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Eric Longstreet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eric Longstreet has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Duncan Chavez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Eric Longstreet!
The judges for this bout are Anthony Taglia, David Schapiro and Bruno Lombardi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Longstreet fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Chavez sprawls well initially but Longstreet persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Longstreet is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Chavez is just riding it out for now. Longstreet eventually gives up the hold.
Longstreet takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Chavez regains full guard. Nicely done.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Chavez looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Chavez lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chavez postures up in Longstreet's guard and throws a big left but Longstreet blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Longstreet wants to sweep here but Chavez controlling him for the moment.
Chavez has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Chavez drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Longstreet dives on top into guard.

Longstreet working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Chavez's head.
Chavez has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Longstreet can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Longstreet makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Longstreet is working Chavez over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Longstreet cracks Chavez with a solid left hand.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Longstreet's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Chavez could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Longstreet wants to control from the top but Chavez keeps moving.
Chavez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Longstreet's guard.
Longstreet looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Chavez throws a big right hand that misses.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Longstreet controlling Chavez's posture.
Chavez stands and steps away. Longstreet gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Longstreet shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Chavez's guard.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Longstreet lands a couple of digs.
Chavez is rocked!
Longstreet works over Chavez with some ground and pound from guard.
Oh Chavez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Longstreet postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Chavez covers up, he's hurt! Longstreet keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Longstreet and the ref steps in to end the fight! Longstreet can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Eric Longstreet!
Eric Longstreet decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
