The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

West drops Howard with a beautiful combination! Howard stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - West is looking for the KO!

Howard is rocked!

It looks like Don Howard has been cut.
West looks to throw a body kick
and Howard counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Oh Howard is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Howard blocks the body kick.
Howard appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Howard seems to have got his legs back now.
Howard tries to close the distance and clinch but West swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

and Howard counters into the clinch. Nicely done.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Howard presses West against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
West misses with an elbow strike.
West stalling in the clinch but Howard improves position.
A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.
Howard keeps the fight in the clinch, despite West's efforts to push away.
West throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Howard manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Howard can't keep his opponent in guard - West advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
West lands with a punch from half guard.
West stops Howard from getting back to his feet.

Howard is trying to control but can't.
Howard wants to improve his position but West is controlling well.
West seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
West is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
West landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
West is nestled in close to Howard, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

West has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Howard tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Howard is refusing to be controlled, as West sits in half guard.

Howard kicks West off and gets back to his feet.

West sends Howard crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! West is motioning to the referee to let Howard up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
West plants his feet and throws a 3 punch combo. Miss, miss, boom! The third punch, a big right hook, connects right on the temple and drops Howard to the mat, unconscious! This fight is all over! Howard just couldn't keep out of the way of the whole flurry of punches!
