Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Leif Jaatinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Takeya Maeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the ring.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Leif Jaatinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Takeya Maeda!
The judges for this bout are Tatsuya Matsuyama, Taro Takaoka and Yukihiro Shimada.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maeda looks to score with a jab to the body but Jaatinen is just out of range.
Maeda keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Jaatinen.
Jaatinen goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Maeda shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
No luck for Maeda with that takedown attempt.
Jaatinen connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Maeda takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Jaatinen looks to score with a jab to the body but Maeda is just out of range.
Maeda closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jaatinen circles away.
Leif Jaatinen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takeya Maeda.
Jaatinen throws a nice looking combination but Maeda bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

and Maeda counters with a takedown into full mount! That could mean trouble for Jaatinen!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Maeda thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.
Jaatinen wants to control but Maeda is having none of it.

Jaatinen really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Maeda looking to control but Jaatinen is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Jaatinen on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jaatinen tries to get out of the position.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Jaatinen tries to reverse the position but Maeda maintains control.
Jaatinen is squirming around, avoiding Maeda's attempts to control the action.
Jaatinen keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Maeda looking to control but Jaatinen is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Jaatinen has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.
Maeda wants to control but Jaatinen is keeping busy.
I would not like to be Jaatinen right now.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Maeda is not going to allow Jaatinen to sit and survive in this position.
Jaatinen is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Maeda.
Maeda struggling to keep hold of the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Maeda counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Maeda.

Despite being in the dominant position, Takeya Maeda just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Maeda avoids a punch combination nicely.
Jaatinen loads up on a big right hand but Maeda slips the punch.

and Maeda counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Jaatinen seems keen to control Maeda's posture.

Maeda wants to control from the top but Jaatinen keeps moving.
Maeda won't allow Jaatinen to sweep him here.
Maeda is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Maeda passes Jaatinen's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Jaatinen trying to control from the bottom.
Maeda is taking a breather. Jaatinen says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Maeda is trying to control the action in half guard but Jaatinen is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Maeda frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Maeda takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Maeda's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Despite being in the dominant position, Takeya Maeda just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Maeda dodges the punch combination from Jaatinen.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Takeya Maeda showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Maeda looks for a takedown but Jaatinen sprawls well.
Jaatinen goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Takeya Maeda has been cut.
Maeda tries for a takedown but Jaatinen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Jaatinen lands a nice looking body shot.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jaatinen throws a left and a right that both miss

and Maeda counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Maeda.
Maeda wants to control from the top but Jaatinen keeps moving.
Jaatinen is trying to control the position but Maeda postures up.

Maeda takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Jaatinen striking off his back but it's not causing Maeda any problems.

The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Jaatinen keeping moving, preventing Maeda from controlling successfully.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Jaatinen throws a right and a left that both miss.
Leif Jaatinen is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Maeda changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jaatinen tries to avoid it but Maeda manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jaatinen to the ground. Jaatinen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Leif Jaatinen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Takeya Maeda.
Jaatinen looks to land a right hand but Maeda moved out of range.

Maeda pushes Jaatinen up against the ropes in a clinch.

Jaatinen loads up on a big right hand but Maeda slips the punch.
Jaatinen swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Maeda.

Maeda fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Jaatinen lands with a shot to the body.
Jaatinen scores with a three punch combo!
Jaatinen scores with a nice head shot.
Jaatinen scores with a jab to the head.
Jaatinen moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Maeda takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Jaatinen lands a nice shot to the body.
Maeda avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

Jaatinen scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Jaatinen misses with a straight right.

Jab, jab by Jaatinen - just one landing.
Nice sprawl there from Jaatinen as Maeda shoots in.
Jaatinen scores with a sloppy right hand. Maeda should have avoided that one.
Maeda walks into a left hand.
Maeda ducks under a wild hook from Jaatinen.
Jaatinen moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Jaatinen pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
No joy there for Jaatinen, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Maeda shoots in but Jaatinen avoids the takedown attempt easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Maeda connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Jaatinen momentarily.

Maeda clinches up against the ropes.

And that's the end of the fight!
Leif Jaatinen showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Jaatinen has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
