Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Greg Ward!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Joseph Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Downing, George Francis and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good standup being displayed there by Ward as he connects with a hook.
Jackson lands a nice shot to the body.
Jackson swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Ward will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Jackson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Ward loads up on a big right hand but Jackson slips the punch.

We've been hearing reports that Ward has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Ward appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Ward shoots for a double leg takedown but Jackson sprawls well. He's pushed Ward's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Ward connects with a right hand. Jackson shakes it off.

Ward bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Jackson tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Jackson is squirming around, avoiding Ward's attempts to control the action.
Jackson felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.
Jackson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Ward. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Ward cracks Jackson with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.

Ward takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Jackson takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Jackson lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ward circles away quickly and effectively.
Ward slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Ward fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Jackson.

Jackson gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Jackson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Jackson wants to stand up but Ward is controlling him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ward cracks Jackson with a solid left hand.
Greg Ward overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Ward has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Jackson's face.

Ward swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Jackson is now in Ward's guard. A big mistake from Ward there, giving up the dominant position!

Ward looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jackson can do anything to dispel that myth.

Ward is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Jackson can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Jackson throws a lazy right hand but Ward sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Oh Ward is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jackson fakes the leg kick and throws a superman punch. It's knocked Ward out cold! Brutal finish!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:14 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Joseph Jackson!
A very excited looking Joseph Jackson rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
