Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between German Hood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joshua Neine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Joshua Neine told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Neine is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Hood's half guard.

Hood knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Neine on the ground.
Neine seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Neine throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Hood tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Neine is in Hood's guard.

Hood controls Neine momentarily but Neine frees himself.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Neine shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Hood is trying to defend but Neine finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Neine sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Neine swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Hood is now in Neine's guard. A big mistake from Neine there, giving up the dominant position!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hood postures up.

Hood avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Neine moves into the clinch.

Hood tightens his grip and picks Neine up, before dumping him to the ground. Neine manages to land in guard.

Neine wriggles free and stands up.
Hood on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Neine. Neine obviously looking to wear him down.

Neine moves into range and clinches up with Hood.
Hood tries to pull guard but Neine holds him up against the cage and eventually Hood drops back down to his feet.
Neine blocks a punch to the side of the head.

Neine has picked Hood up - he's going for a ride! Neine dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Hood tries to hold on but Neine pushes him away.

Hood is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Neine rushes Hood and presses him up against the cage.

Neine manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Neine has control of Hood's left arm, preventing Hood from doing any damage.
Hood really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Hood tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Neine manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
German Hood is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Neine shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Neine was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Neine is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hood can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Hood sneaks a leg under to get to half guard.
Neine is taking a breather. Hood says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Well Neine has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
