Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Chris Leary (ranked 1360 p4p, 196 weight class) and Bradley Johnson (ranked 764 p4p, 117 weight class). Chris Leary has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris Leary!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bradley Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Ackerman and Donald Grub.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leary tries to clinch but Johnson moves away
and Johnson counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Leary seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Left hook, right uppercut from Johnson.


It looks like Chris Leary has been cut.
Leary misses with a low kick.
Leary throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Johnson counters with a stiff right hand.
Leary with a lazy takedown attempt
and Johnson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Leary takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

Johnson gets caught flat footed, as Leary shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Leary drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Leary jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Leary drops back looking for a leg! Johnson is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Johnson manages to kick Leary off! Leary jumps back into Johnson's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Leary is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Johnson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Johnson has escaped and now he's on top!

Leary is looking for a triangle but Johnson pushes his legs off easily.
Johnson is pushing down on Leary's leg trying to pass to half guard. Leary is fighting to maintain full guard but Johnson has managed to sneak the leg through.

Leary working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Johnson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Johnson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Leary not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Johnson really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Leary. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Leary has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
