PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rudi Dassler (ranked 2806 p4p, 413 weight class) and Stew Sauced (ranked 4020 p4p, 543 weight class). Sauced has chosen Irish Jig as his entrance music. Stew Sauced will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 13 - 0, fighting out of London, Rudi Dassler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 13 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Stew Sauced!
The judges for this bout are Cecil Peabody, Alan Glass and Stewart Dunkirk.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Sauced.
Sauced misses with a few strikes there.
Dassler changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Dassler fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Sauced to the ground. Dassler is now in Sauced's guard.
Dassler with a flurry of punches that miss.
Sauced is trying to keep Dassler in close.
Dassler tries to free his leg and advance position but Sauced is retaining full guard.

Dassler drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Sauced manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Dassler has Sauced in his guard.


Dassler has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sauced can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sauced passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Dassler is trying to get back to half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sauced remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Sauced's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Dassler is looking to regain half guard here but Sauced keeps moving and retains side control.
Sauced wants to control but Dassler is keeping him busy.

Dassler throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Dassler has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Dassler seems a little lost for a moment, as Sauced dominates the positioning.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Sauced taking a breather here.
Dassler is looking to reverse the position.
Sauced is staying tight to Dassler's torso, preventing him from escaping.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Dassler tries to buck Sauced off but Sauced is having none of it.
Sauced controlling the position from side mount.
Sauced is looking to take a break and control but Dassler is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Sauced decides to stand back up. Sauced steps back and let's Dassler get back to his feet.
Sauced missing with a left hand there. Dassler was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Dassler seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.

Dassler appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sloppy strikes from Sauced. Those never looked like landing.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Sauced enables Dassler to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Sauced manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Dassler is working for a submission of some sort.

Dassler is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Sauced has managed to free his arm - good work.

Dassler is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sauced is just riding it out for now. Dassler eventually gives up the hold.

Dassler is looking to advance position but Sauced won't allow it.
Dassler throwing shots but Sauced is blocking nicely.

Dassler is working for a kimura here but Sauced manages to reverse the position and he's now in Dassler's guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Dassler escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Sauced gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Dassler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sauced doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sauced manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Stew Sauced will probably get the nod.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Sauced swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sauced throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Dassler sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Dassler shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Sauced pinned against the cage. Sauced gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Sauced fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Dassler manages to avoid it.
Sauced misses with a body shot.
Dassler tries to counter with a takedown but Sauced is quick to defend against it.
Stew Sauced seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A punch lands to the side of Dassler 's head but he takes it in his stride.


It looks like Rudi Dassler has been cut.

Sauced cracks Dassler with a big right hand that sends him to the floor! Dassler looks wobbly but he's sprung back up to his feet straight away… can Sauced finish him?


Dassler is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sauced connects with a picture perfect right hand that knocks Dassler out cold! This one is over in a flash!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Stew Sauced!
Our winner, Stew Sauced, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
