PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Erkki Junttila (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reza Aziz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Junttila comes into the arena with Disturbed - Voices blaring out of the sound system. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aziz swats away the attempt to clinch by Junttila.
Junttila shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Aziz as he jumps to the side.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Junttila tries to pull guard but Aziz won't allow it.

Junttila jumps into guard, dragging Aziz to the mat.
Junttila keeping moving, preventing Aziz from controlling successfully.
Aziz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Junttila. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Junttila looking to hit a scissor sweep but Aziz is one step ahead there.

Junttila has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Aziz is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Junttila.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Junttila doesn't manage to clinch there - Aziz circles away.

Aziz shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground.
Junttila tries for a takedown but Aziz circles away easily

and Aziz decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Junttila's guard.

Junttila looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Aziz passes into half guard.
Junttila has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Aziz is working away from the top position though.

A close round but Reza Aziz will probably get the nod.

Junttila is looking for a triangle but Aziz pushes his legs off easily.

Aziz decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Aziz fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Junttila shoots in and bounces Aziz off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Junttila tries to free his leg and advance position but Aziz is retaining full guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Junttila stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Aziz swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Aziz clinches.

Aziz not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Junttila has gone for a leg lock! Aziz slips out almost immediately though and dives into Junttila's guard.

Aziz is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Junttila has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Aziz is looking to defend but Junttila has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Aziz! Junttila pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Aziz taps out and this one is all over!
