PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jan Kriel (ranked 457 p4p, 73 weight class) and Graeme Symons (ranked 1015 p4p, 157 weight class). Kriel comes to the cage accompanied by Fokofpolisiekar - Fokofpolisiekar. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 5 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jan Kriel!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 26 - 15 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Graeme Symons!
The judges for this bout are Thiago Cunha, Luis Engracia and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kriel throws a lazy body kick

and Symons counters with a shoot takedown. Kriel fights it but they end up in guard.

Kriel is looking for a sweep. Symons is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Symons throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Kriel tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Symons is in Kriel's guard.

A solid leg kick lands there for Kriel.
Symons will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Kriel slaps away a takedown attempt from Symons, before circling back to the center of the mat.
As Symons backs away, Kriel returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.

Kriel looked to counter with a high kick but didn't commit.
Symons has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Kriel.

Symons bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
