Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Drew Sampson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Geo Hill!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sampson rushes Hill and presses him up against the cage.
Sampson really is a fat lump.
Hill lands a knee to the head.


It looks like Drew Sampson has been cut.
Sampson dodges an elbow strike from Hill.
Still in the clinch, Hill scores with a nice short uppercut.
Sampson is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Sampson wants to get back to striking at distance but Hill won't allow it.

Sampson gets tackled into the cage by Hill. Hill maintains the clinch.

Hill is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Hill tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Sampson avoids it.
Hill lands a damaging elbow.

Hill breaks the clinch.

Sampson closes the distance and clinches.
Hill lands an elbow that stopped Sampson in his tracks for a moment.

Sampson turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Sampson manages to end up in side control.
Sampson takes a little break here. Hill wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sampson looks up at the clock and then as Hill takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Sampson smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sampson is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Hill will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Hill bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Hill utilising his Muay Thai to score with a knee to the body.
Sampson tries to pull guard but Hill won't allow it.

Sampson drops down looking for an ankle pick but Hill pulls his leg out and moves away.

Sampson is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Hill gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Well Hill has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
