Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Gabriel Leiva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ichiro Miyata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Winston Alpacca and Dirk Anderson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Leiva fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Miyata looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Leiva fails with an attempt to clinch.
Miyata looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Leiva misses with a series of wild punches.
Miyata has taken the fight to the clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Miyata's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Miyata tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Miyata tries to pull guard but Leiva holds him up against the cage and eventually Miyata drops back down to his feet.
Leiva manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miyata blocks a head kick by Leiva.
A countering left hand to the body from Miyata misses.
Leiva moves in looking to clinch but Miyata pushes him off.

Horrible takedown attempt by Leiva or perhaps it was just good defense by Miyata, which made it look bad.
Miyata moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Miyata clinches up with Leiva and pushes him back against the cage.
Miyata tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Leiva just stands there and leans against the cage.

Leiva looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Miyata tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Leiva smiles and moves away.
Leiva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Miyata as he jumps to the side.

Miyata throws a head kick that misses.
Leiva shoots in and drives through. Miyata sprawls well.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Miyata.

and Leiva counters with a left to the body.
Miyata tests Leiva's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Leiva fails with the takedown
enabling Miyata to counter with a crisp jab.
Nice sprawl there from Leiva as Miyata shoots in.
Leiva throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Leiva tries for a takedown but Miyata circles away easily
and Miyata counters with a two punch combo.
Leiva is breathing heavily.
Miyata moves in looking to clinch but Leiva pushes him off.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Leiva is defended easily by Miyata.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Miyata paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Miyata closes this distance looking for a takedown but Leiva circles away.

Gabriel Leiva seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Miyata darts in and clinches Leiva up against the cage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Well, if Leiva is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Miyata throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Leiva on the side of the head.

I've got Miyata winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
