Coming up we have a bantamweight kickboxing rules bout between Islam Barayev (ranked 15608 p4p, 462 weight class) and John Lennon (ranked 5368 p4p, 272 weight class). Barayev's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Birds of Sulphur. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Islam Barayev!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Lennon!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yasuomi Hirokawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barayev misses with a hook. Lennon ducked under it nicely.
A little jabbing left from Lennon on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Lennon throws a hook but Barayev avoids it easily.
Barayev throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Lennon sizes up Barayev with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Lennon avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
Barayev swats away the attempt to clinch by Lennon.
Barayev was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Lennon keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A lazy left from Barayev finds it's target.
Barayev dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Lennon. That did some damage!
Lennon looks to land a left hand but Barayev moved out of range nicely.

A solid leg kick lands there for Barayev.
Barayev stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Lennon looks to land a right hand but Barayev moved out of range.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lennon throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Barayev stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Barayev throws a half hearted mid kick.
Barayev feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Lennons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Barayev throws a body shot but no joy.
Barayev throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Barayev defending well as Lennon loads up on a big left hand.
Barayev misses with an attempted mid kick.
Lennon slips a jab from Barayev.

Lennon clinches.
Barayev working aggressively here.
Lennon lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Barayev tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Barayev pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Barayev pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Lennon takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
A slow jab from Barayev misses its intended target.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Lennon! But no joy.
Lennon looks to throw the jab but Barayev is out of range.
Barayev appeared to be looking to counter that last move with a leg kick.
Lennon throws an overhand right that lands on Barayev's shoulder, as Barayev tries to avoid the shot.
Barayev looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Lennon on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Barayev connects with a jab.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Barayev connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Lennon rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Barayev moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Barayev swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Barayev.
Lennon throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Lennon avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Lennon tries to counter with a clinch but Barayev shakes him off and moves away.
Barayev fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Lennon on the side of the head.
Barayev throws a head kick that Lennon semi-blocks.
Lennon throws a series of punches but Barayev moves out of range.
Lennon darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Lennon scores with a jab to the head.
Barayev lands a slapping body shot.
Barayev tries to work over Lennon's front leg with a kick but Lennon checks it.
Barayev punishes Lennon's body with a nice straight punch.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Barayev takes one to the side of the head.
Barayev lands a nice looking body kick.
Barayev uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Lennon.
Barayev tries to land a leg kick but Lennon saw it coming and moves away.
Lennon might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Barayev rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Lennon counters with a straight right hand.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Islam Barayev dominated that round.
That's time! Barayev's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Barayev looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.
Barayev goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Lennon throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Barayev sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Barayev is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Barayev will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Barayev misses with a few strikes there.
A nice leg kick lands there from Barayev.
Barayev thuds a mid kick into his opponent's body. That will wear on Lennon if he has to take too many more of those.
Lennon takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Lennon uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Barayev.
Barayev throws a front kick aimed at Lennon's knee but Lennon avoids it well.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lennon sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.

Barayev misses with a body shot.

Lennon throws a hook to the side of Barayev's head but Barayev sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

The fight stays on the outside here - Lennon looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Lennon fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Barayev on the side of the head.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Barayev fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Barayev lands a nice looking kick to the body. Lennon takes a step back to recover.

Barayev lands a left hand.
Lennon lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Lennon misses with a hook from the clinch.
Barayev throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Lennons head.
A head punch on the inside from Lennon fails to land.
Barayev tries a body shot but Lennon blocks it.
Lennon softening up his opponent with strikes, against the ropes.


Barayev is rocked!
Barayev takes a shot to the head.
Oh Barayev is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lennon blocks an uppercut.
Lennon breaks the clinch momentarily and cracks Barayev with a big right hook that drops him to the canvas! Barayev looks like he might be in big trouble here! The referee has started the count straight away and we're up to 5 already. Barayev get to one knee - can he make it back to his feet? No, he's flopped back to the mat - he's out - this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). John Lennon!
John Lennon really struggled to get his t-shirt on before his hand was raised. Making sure that Sully's Bar & Grill logo gets some air time is pretty tricky when you're all sweaty.
