Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ludvig Ericsson (ranked 195 p4p, 28 weight class) and Donsone De (ranked 370 p4p, 53 weight class). Donsone De acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Ludvig Ericsson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Donsone De!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ericsson.
De walks into a left hand.
Ericsson has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from De.
De fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
De fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ericsson lands the left hand.
De fails with a takedown attempt.
A head kick by De misses
and Ericsson connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Ericsson throws a half hearted mid kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Ericsson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
A good leg kick by De.
De does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.

De gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
De looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
De bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Ericsson's guard.

De lands a couple of elbows.
De landing some decent shots from guard.
Ericsson managing to control the position.
De with a flurry of punches that miss.
Ericsson wants to stand up but De is controlling him.
De working some strikes from top position.
De has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Ericsson looking to hit a scissor sweep but De is one step ahead there.
Ericsson pulls De in close to prevent any damage.
De sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Ericsson's guard.
De looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Ericsson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Ericsson.
Ericsson tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
De won't allow Ericsson to sweep him here.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells De's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
De throws a big right hand that misses.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
De makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Ericsson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
De stopping the sweep attempt from Ericsson.
Ericsson is trying to control the position but De postures up.
De postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
De tries to free his leg and advance position but Ericsson is retaining full guard.
Ericsson thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
De cracks Ericsson with a solid left hand.

Ericsson wants to sweep here but De controlling him for the moment.
De postures up and lands a big shot to Ericsson's brow.
De is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Ericsson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The fighters are battling for position here. De manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


Ericsson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but De was well out of range. Poor timing from Ericsson.
De throws a low kick, looking for Ericsson's leg but Ericsson calmly moves out of range.
Ericsson throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as De checks a leg kick.
De throws an overhand right that lands on Ericsson's shoulder, as Ericsson tries to avoid the shot.
Ericsson lands a nice shot that snaps De's head back.
De fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Ericsson.
De fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Ericsson is out of range.
De finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
De misses with a low kick.

De throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Ericsson on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
De moves forwards but Ericsson connects with a nice, crisp jab.
De gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
De lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Ludvig Ericsson is winning the standup battle so far.
De comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Ericsson throws an overhand right that lands on De's shoulder, as De tries to avoid the shot.
Ericsson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but De was well out of range. Poor timing from Ericsson.
De raises up his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for Ericsson.
De scores with a push kick.
De takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

De throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
Ericsson half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Ericsson ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
De stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Ericsson lands a nice leg kick that just misses De's sensitive parts.

Ericsson misses with a hook. De ducked under it nicely.

De bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.

Ericsson shoots for a double leg takedown but De sprawls well. He's pushed Ericsson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

De throws a chopping leg kick but Ericsson manages to avoid taking any serious damage.

Ericsson throws a leg kick which misses De's front leg but catches the back leg as De tries to avoid it.
De misses with a low kick as Ericsson jumps back.

Ericsson looks to land a left hand but De moved out of range nicely.

De tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

De darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Ericsson lands a leg kick that knocks De off balance momentarily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
De scores with a spinning back kick!
Ericsson throws a wild body kick that De sees coming a mile off.
De lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
De lands a high kick!
De fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Ericsson has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
De takes one on the chin but seems OK.
De looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
De takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Ericsson throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
De drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Ericsson defends it well.
De lands with a thumping leg kick.
Ericsson throws a jab when De was well out of range.
De feints a counter leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Ericsson. De does a little dance to reset his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Donsone De showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


De tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
De throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ericsson misses with a straight right.

Ericsson closes this distance looking for a takedown but De circles away.
De throws a sloppy head kick and Ericsson moves out of range easily.
De throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Ericsson stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Ericsson throws a looping overhand right but De ducks down to avoid it.
And De responds with a good body kick, but Ericsson manages to step out the way in time.
De throws a leg kick but Ericsson checks it.
Ericsson fails with a takedown attempt.
Ericsson misses with an attempted mid kick.
De doesn't fully commit to the body shot counter.
De ducks under a wild hook from Ericsson.
Ericsson takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
De moves away from the strike by Ericsson.
Ludvig Ericsson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
