Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Esteban Dixon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Slider Killson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Esteban Dixon has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Slider Killson!
The judges for this bout are Chris Saunders, Roger Salmon and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Killson is looking to clinch but Dixon is avoiding it.
Killson connects with a leg kick. Dixon looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dixon tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Killson just stands there and leans against the cage.
Dixon has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Killson avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

and Dixon counters with a three punch combo that has Killson backing up. Killson nods at Dixon to acknowledge the strikes.

Killson has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Dixon has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.

It looks like Esteban Dixon has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Killson is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Dixon is defending well for now.

and Killson counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.

Killson has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Dixon is working away from the top position though.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Dixon is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Killson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Dixon scores with a couple of nice shots.
Esteban Dixon has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Slider Killson is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
