PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rob Krygos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Billy Black (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Rob Krygos!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Billy Black!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Black shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Krygos manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Black stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Krygos swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Krygos pulls Black in to control the position.
Krygos is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Black distracts Krygos with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Krygos looking for a sweep. Not yet Krygos, not yet.
Black connects with a couple of short punches.
Black throws a big right hand that misses.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Black wants to pass the guard but Krygos is keeping the position.
Krygos keeping moving, preventing Black from controlling successfully.
Krygos will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Black is looking to work some ground and pound but Krygos has wrist control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Black drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Krygos dives on top into guard.

Krygos drops back, looking for a kneebar! Black looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Black looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Black!

Black in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Black creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Krygos regains half guard, as Black was trying to land strikes.
Krygos is not content to let Black control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Black working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Black drops an elbow to the side of Krygos's head.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Black connects with a nice short shot to Krygos's temple.
Krygos tries to get to full guard but Black has control of the leg.
Black is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Krygos is breathing heavily.
Black seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Black takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.

Krygos is rocked!
Black lands a massive shot from half guard that has rocked Krygos! More strikes land and this one is all over! Black jumps to his feet and is applauded loudly by the crowd!
