Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Benedict Cumberbatch (ranked 5911 p4p, 696 weight class) and Rod Marchand (ranked 8531 p4p, 823 weight class). Marchand comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Daisy kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Benedict Cumberbatch could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Rod Marchand's chin.

The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Ryoma Takatsuka and Jeff Smith.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cumberbatch goes for a double leg but Marchand avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Marchand continues to drive forward.
Marchand lands a jab to the head.
Cumberbatch shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Cumberbatch feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Cumberbatch is working to tighten his grip on Marchand's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Marchand has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Cumberbatch is really squeezing tight and eventually Marchand passes out! Cumberbatch breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
