Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Moe Syzlak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Tyler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tyler is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Anthem for the Underdog. Moe Syzlak has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Tyler.

Tyler had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Syzlak is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Tyler Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Syzlak's back instead.
Syzlak has hold of Tyler's arm. He needs to escape this position sooner or later but for now he's happy enough to control the position and prevent the submission attempts.

Syzlak seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Tyler for as long as he can get away with.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

and Syzlak counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Syzlak.
Tyler jumps guard but Syzlak stands there with Tyler around his waist. Tyler gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Moe Syzlak has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jake Tyler.
Tyler is trying to drag Syzlak to the mat but Syzlak just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Syzlak tightens his grip and picks Tyler up, before dumping him to the ground. Tyler manages to land in guard.

Tyler has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Syzlak can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Syzlak has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Tyler working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Syzlak doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Syzlak manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Moe Syzlak overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Tyler escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Syzlak gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
