The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Owens is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Johnson was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Johnson throws a head kick that misses.
Owens went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.
Johnson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Owens paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Johnson closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Owens did well to prevent Johnson getting side control.
Owens pushes Johnson off looking to stand but Johnson dives back in and keeps control.
Johnson is looking to pass Owens's guard but actually Owens recovers to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Owens utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Owens swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Johnson changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Owens looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Owens is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Johnson is looking to advance position but Owens won't allow it.

Johnson is working for a submission of some sort.
Owens is staying active underneath Johnson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Owens jumps guard but Johnson stands there with Owens around his waist. Owens gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Johnson gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Owens regains guard.

Johnson content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Owens has locked up a guillotine! Owens's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Johnson is holding on here and Owens must be using up a lot of energy. Johnson has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Owens gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
