Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Elwood Shepard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pootie Tang (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tang has chosen Pootie Tang as his entrance music. Pootie Tang has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Elwood Shepard's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shepard gets caught napping as Tang dives in and scores a takedown. Shepard manages to retain guard.

Tang thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Tang drops back, looking for a kneebar! Shepard looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Shepard looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Shepard!

Shepard knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Tang on the ground.
Shepard postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The ground and pound from Shepard seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
Tang regains half guard there - taking advantage of Shepard's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.

Tang is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Shepard is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Shepard is trying to stand up here but Tang is controlling him well.

Tang is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Shepard is just riding it out for now. Tang eventually gives up the hold.

Tang looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Shepard is defending against the submission attempts here by Tang.

Tang drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Tang jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Shepard could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Shepard throws a sloppy strike and Tang has hooked up an armbar on the loose arm! He's turned and extended fully! Shepard is forced to tap! Great BJJ from Tang!
