PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between James Owen (ranked 1802 p4p, 219 weight class) and Daniel Moore (ranked 5386 p4p, 568 weight class). Daniel Moore told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Owen ducks under a wild hook from Moore.
Owen throwing a counter right hand but Moore manages to avoid it.
Moore takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Owen thows a left - swing and a miss!
Moore misses with a looping left.
Owen connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Moore momentarily.
Owen tries to move into range but Moore moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

It looks like James Owen has been cut.
Moore slips under a jab from Owen.
Moore throws a body punch but Owen moves out of range.
Owen throws a shot from downtown. Moore moves away and avoids it.
Owen missing with a left hand there. Moore was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Moore! But no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Moore fails in his attempt to clinch.
Owen throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Moore sees it coming and avoids it easily.

Moore lands with a hook. Owen tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Moore keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Owen.
Moore throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Moore throws a hook but Owen avoids it easily.
Moore jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Moore dips to his left and cracks Owen with an uppercut!

Despite the aggression on Moore's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Owen throws a lazy right hand but Moore sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Moore on the wrong end of a nice hook.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

A punch lands to the side of Moore 's head but he takes it in his stride.
Owen ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Owen half committed to a counter leg kick.
Owen avoids the body shot from Moore.
Moore swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Moore doesn't manage to clinch there - Owen circles away.
Owen just misses with a punch to the body.
Moore defending well as Owen loads up on a big left hand.

Moore scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Moore walks into a straight right hand from Owen.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Moore jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Moore takes one on the chin but seems OK.
Owen scores with a nice strike.
Owen looks for the body kick but Moore saw that one coming.
Moore looks to land a right hand but Owen moved out of range.
Owen is looking to counter punch.
Moore takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Owen loads up on a big right hand but Moore slips the punch.
Owen looks to land a left hand but Moore moved out of range nicely.
It seemed like Moore was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Owen throws a looping overhand right but Moore ducks down to avoid it.
Owen lands a nice shot to the body.
Moore rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Owen counters with a straight right hand.
Moore on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Owen connects with a solid leg kick.

Owen avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Moore throws a body shot but no joy.
Owen pivots, looking for a leg kick but Moore is out of range and Owen settles back down.
Moore swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Moore avoids the body shot from Owen.
Moore now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Moore throws a body punch but Owen moves out of range.
A little feinted left hand from Owen on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Owen loads up on a big right hand but Moore slips the punch.
Owen lands the left hand.
Owen fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Moore on the side of the head.
Owen slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

Moore is rocked!
Moore walks right into a perfectly timed right hook and goes down hard! He's out cold! The ref cradles Moore limp body while Owen jumps on to the cage and waves to the roaring crowd. Wow that was just a brutal knockout!
