The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Nichols shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Nichols is looking to advance position but Eskenreich won't allow it.

Nichols throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Eskenreich tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Nichols is in Eskenreich's guard.

Nichols seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Eskenreich for as long as he can get away with.
Nichols wants to control from the top but Eskenreich keeps moving.
Nichols is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Nichols fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Eskenreich avoids it really well and circles away.

Eskenreich is trying to force a seperation but Nichols has the dominant position.

A real battle for position is taking place between these two warriors.

Nichols breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nichols misses with a takedown attempt - Eskenreich sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Eskenreich swings for the body but Nichols moves out of range.
Nichols really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Eskenreich goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Jimmie Nichols has been cut.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Eskenreich gets in close and instigates a clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Eskenreich is trying to force a seperation but Nichols has the dominant position.
A body shot lands from Eskenreich.
Eskenreich wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Christroff Eskenreich dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Jimmie Nichols's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


No luck for Nichols with that takedown attempt.
Nichols shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Eskenreich as he avoids it easily.
Nichols moves forwards but Eskenreich connects with a nice, crisp jab.


Nichols is rocked!
Eskenreich dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Oh Nichols is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
OH! Nichols has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Eskenreich smells blood and charges in for the finish! Eskenreich unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Nichols sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!
