And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Butterfinger McGee!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Sosuke Kotani and Taro Takaoka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abueva lands a nice shot to the body.
McGee moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
McGee walks into a straight right hand from Abueva.
McGee gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
McGee sizes up Abueva with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
McGee takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Abueva lands a body shot.
Abueva is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Abueva ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
No luck with that takedown attempt from McGee.
McGee has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Abueva jabs McGee to the body, keeping him at a distance.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
A jab lands there for Abueva.

Abueva uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from McGee.
It looked like Abueva wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

McGee works his foot free and advances to mount.

McGee is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Abueva has managed to escape the submission attempt.

McGee wants to finish this one by submission but Abueva is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from McGee.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McGee can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Abueva is looking to escape.
McGee tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Abueva is controlling an arm, preventing McGee from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

McGee has control of Abueva's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Abueva regains control of the situation pretty easily.

McGee wants to control the pace but Abueva is squirming around nicely.

McGee quickly switches position and commits to an armbar! It's a big risk for McGee but it's paid off an Abueva is forced to tap! Nice work by McGee.
