Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rogelio Burch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Roco Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Chris Downing and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sanchez closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Burch's guard.
Sanchez trying to control but Burch is working from the bottom.
Burch will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Sanchez accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Burch tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Burch pulls Sanchez in close to prevent any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Burch has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sanchez won't allow Burch to get back to his feet.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Sanchez has taken the fight to the clinch.
Burch doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Burch wants to break free but Sanchez has control.

Sanchez turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Burch manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Sanchez keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Sanchez closes the distance and pushes Burch back into the cage.

Sanchez gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Burch is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Sanchez dives into side control.
Sanchez looks winded!

Burch can't do much from the bottom here.
Burch is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Burch is positioning himself well to prevent Sanchez advancing to mount.
Burch continues to stall.

Sanchez looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Burch gets full guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Burch is on top in guard.

Burch won't allow Sanchez to get back to his feet.
Burch postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Burch decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Sanchez, up you get!

Sanchez tries to sprawl but Burch drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Sanchez wants to stand back up but Burch manages to pass into side control.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Burch is putting a hurting on Sanchez here, landing some big shots from side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Burch has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Burch closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Sanchez's guard.
Sanchez wants to get back to his feet but Burch passes into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Burch slips a nice elbow through Sanchez's hands, connecting with Sanchez's forehead.

Burch is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Sanchez is just riding it out for now. Burch eventually gives up the hold.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Burch lands a nice short elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!



Burch has taken the fight to the clinch.
Sanchez is trying to break the clinch but Burch is controlling him.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Burch here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

Burch breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Sanchez scores with a leg kick.

Sanchez shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Burch is trying to defend but Sanchez finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Burch stands up and waves to Sanchez to follow him.

Sanchez closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Burch makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Burch.
Burch manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sanchez manages to get himself to full guard.

Burch winds up and cracks Sanchez with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Burch decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Sanchez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Burch shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Sanchez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Sanchez is looking to stand back up but Burch counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Sanchez.

Burch decides to return to a standing position.

Burch manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Sanchez on his heels. He'll look to pass Sanchez's guard now, I'm sure.
Sanchez is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Burch dives into side control.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Burch is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Sanchez can do to turn this around?

Sanchez shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Sanchez showed some decent athleticism there.

Burch kicks Sanchez off and gets back to his feet.

Sanchez takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Sanchez fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Burch, pushing him back against the cage.

Burch bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sanchez's guard.

Sanchez has momentary wrist control but Burch slips an elbow through the middle.
Burch lands a couple of digs.

Sanchez looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Burch has picked Sanchez up and slammed him! Sanchez can't keep hold of the triangle and Burch manages to pass to side control!

Burch decides to stand back up. Burch steps back and let's Sanchez get back to his feet.

Sanchez is looking to get back to his feet here but Burch is keeping cool and he's managed to take Sanchez's back.

Burch is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Sanchez won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Burch off his unconscious opponent!
