Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hurl Gragas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Penn!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gragas steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Penn.
Gragas looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Penn leaves Gragas with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Penn throws out a counter right but Gragas avoids it with no problem.
Penn swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Gragas changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Gragas really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Gragas shoots in but no luck this time.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Hurl Gragas. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Penn loads up on a big right hand but Gragas slips the punch.
Penn misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Gragas.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gragas shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Penn as he jumps to the side.
Penn thows a left - swing and a miss!

Penn shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Penn is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gragas defends it well.

Gragas looking for subs from the bottom but Penn mounts him!

Penn wants to finish this one by submission but Gragas is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Penn.
Gragas is trying desperately to improve position.

Penn moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Gragas has worked his arm free - good work by Gragas!
You can see the frustration on Gragas's face as Penn controls the position.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Penn looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Gragas is looking to reverse the position.

Penn working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
Gragas is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
Gragas manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gragas wants to pass the guard but Penn is defending well.

Gragas is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Penn is just riding it out for now. Gragas eventually gives up the hold.

Gragas in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Penn tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Gragas!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Hurl Gragas!
