Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between adam griffin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Glenn Close (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). griffin has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. adam griffin could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Glenn Close's chin.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Close throws a half hearted mid kick.
griffin looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!

Close feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

griffin knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Close on the ground.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Despite being in the dominant position, Glenn Close just isn't active enough and the referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

I looks like Close might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Close in particular looking to stall.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Close thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed griffin's head.

That's time! griffin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Close feints and as griffin raises his hands in defense, Close changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Close accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Close decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Close fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
griffin swats away the attempt to clinch by Close.

and Close counters with a single leg into guard. griffin didn't expect that.
griffin is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Close is trying to work for a single leg takedown but griffin pulls him back up using the underhooks.

and Close decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in griffin's guard.

Close misses with a head shot. griffin uses the momentum to regain guard.

Glenn Close showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

Close shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

griffin had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Close is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. griffin Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Close's back instead.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Close is desperately trying to improve his position but griffin has a good base and remains in mount.

griffin takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Close avoids the head kick by griffin.
griffin blocks a low kick nicely.
Horrible takedown by Close or perhaps it was just good defense by griffin which made him look bad.
