Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dirk Diggler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hyrek Hyrski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dirk Diggler has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Dirk Diggler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hyrek Hyrski!
The judges for this bout are Vladimir Khabensky, Igor Prikhodko and Fedor Mirinova.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hyrski fails with a takedown attempt from distance.

Hyrski rushes Diggler and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Hyrek Hyrski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Diggler shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hyrski's guard.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
You can see the frustration on Diggler's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Diggler is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hyrski tries to move to mount but Diggler blocks the move with his legs.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Diggler throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Hyrski blocks a leg kick.
Hyrski misses with a takedown attempt - Diggler sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Diggler takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Hyrski tries to close the distance and clinch up but Diggler swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Hyrski tries to pull guard but Diggler holds him up against the cage and eventually Hyrski drops back down to his feet.
Dirk Diggler has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Hyrek Hyrski.
Diggler wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Dirk Diggler will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Diggler gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Hyrski.

Diggler looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hyrski is fending him off so far but Diggler persists. Nope, Hyrski circles away and we're back to standing.
Hyrski goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Dirk Diggler has been cut.
Diggler tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Hyrski was well out of range. Poor timing from Diggler.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Hyrski, right into the meat.
Nice takedown defense from Hyrski. No joy for Diggler on that attempt.
Diggler is looking to clinch but Hyrski is avoiding it.

Hyrski has managed to clinch.
Hyrski prevents Diggler from breaking the clinch.

Hyrski lands an elbow inside.
Diggler has had enough of the clinch but Hyrski keeps him there for the moment.
Diggler is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Diggler has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Hyrski is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Diggler uses his free foot to push down on Hyrski's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Hyrski.

Diggler wants to finish this one by submission but Hyrski is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Diggler.
