The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mendez feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Norton sprawling to the canvas! Norton rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Mendez finish him?!

Mendez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Norton was well out of range. Poor timing from Mendez.
Norton tries to move into range but Mendez moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

Mendez drops Norton with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Norton looks back up at him and smiles so Mendez waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Norton is rocked!

Norton takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Oh Norton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Mendez throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Mendez displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Norton throws out the jab.
Norton seems to have got his legs back now.
BOOM! Mendez lands a beautiful left hook that drops Norton. Norton tries to recover but Mendez is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Norton lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
