The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Favelli swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.

Favelli scores with a takedown into Kane's guard.
Favelli tries to free his leg and advance position but Kane is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Favelli postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kane is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Favelli, into his guard.

Favelli has his foot on Kane's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Kane works his way back into a safe position though.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

We've been hearing that Kane has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Favelli is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Kane throws a hook but Favelli avoids it easily.

Kane walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

Favelli throws a lazy right hand but Kane sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Kane throws a big shot that misses.
Favelli feints the counter takedown.
Favelli scores with a nice strike.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Favelli appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
A jab from Favelli finds it's way through Kane's defenses.
Favelli looks for a takedown but Kane sprawls well.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Kane turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Kane attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Favelli on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
