The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mbaa lunges at Godrigueze with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Godrigueze's hand.
Godrigueze ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Mbaa misses with a straight left.
Godrigueze is looking to counter punch.
A telegraphed right hand from Mbaa misses the target.
Godrigueze wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Godrigueze closes the distance and clinches.
A short right from Godrigueze on the inside.
Mbaa swings wildly with an uppercut but Godrigueze uses good head movement to avoid it.

Godrigueze is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Godrigueze tries to pull guard but Mbaa holds him up against the cage and eventually Godrigueze drops back down to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mbaa tries to throw a body punch but Godrigueze avoids it by throwing Mbaa back against the cage.
Godrigueze manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.

Godrigueze tightens his grip and picks Mbaa up, before dumping him to the ground. Mbaa manages to land in guard.

Mbaa wants to get back to his feet but Godrigueze is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Mbaa wants to stand but Godrigueze is controlling the position.

Mbaa is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Godrigueze presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
A nice left hand lands by Godrigueze.
Mbaa has a couple of punches blocked by Godrigueze.

Godrigueze pulls Mbaa into guard.

Godrigueze looking for a guillotine here but Mbaa defends easily.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Godrigueze looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Mbaa has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Godrigueze is proving hard to escape from.

Mbaa got a little sloppy there for a moment and Godrigueze has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Mbaa has managed to get both his arms back between Godrigueze's legs - danger averted.

Godrigueze bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mbaa's guard.

Mbaa wants to stand but Godrigueze is controlling the position.
Mbaa has momentary wrist control but Godrigueze slips an elbow through the middle.

Mbaa is rocked!
Godrigueze loads up on a big left hand. Mbaa felt that one! He's just covering up now, not defending himself intelligently - Godrigueze looks towards the ref and unloads with 3 more big shots and the ref has no choice but to stop the fight! Mbaa can't hide his disappointment, as Godrigueze celebrates the victory.
