Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between loyta machida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vitor Souza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Edson Gomes and Leandro Rodrigues.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
machida throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Souza stuffs the takedown attempt from machida. machida gets slowly back to his feet.

Souza fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with machida, pushing him back against the cage.
machida wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
machida is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Souza pulls him back up using the underhooks.
Souza lands a nice elbow from the clinch.

Souza gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, machida regains guard.

Souza drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Souza jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Souza passes into half guard.
machida knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Souza on the ground.
machida misses with some strikes from the bottom.
machida flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Souza is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! machida is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!
