Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fin Flaer (ranked 3471 p4p, 117 weight class) and Ronaldo Alves (ranked 3768 p4p, 126 weight class). Ronaldo Alves will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Fin Flaer!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ronaldo Alves!
The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Santiago Holmes and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Flaer moves into range and clinches up with Alves.
Flaer tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Alves's elbow.
Alves has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Flaer after a bit of a struggle.
Flaer is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Alves is defending well.
Flaer prevents the takedown attempt.

Alves has Flaer pressed up against the ropes. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Alves pulls back from the ropes and twists to the side, sending Flaer tumbling to the mat - Alves dives into Flaer's guard.

Flaer isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Alves stacks Flaer on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Alves!
Flaer is not content to let Alves control the position.
Alves connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Flaer some visible discomfort.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alves looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Flaer with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Alves is nestled in close to Flaer, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

BOOM! Alves connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Flaer is bucking up trying to escape but Alves cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Alves prevents Flaer from getting the reversal.
Alves cracks Flaer with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Alves breaks from Flaer's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Alves connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Flaer sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Oh Flaer is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
