PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jason Ventura (ranked 5056 p4p, 0 weight class) and Angel Bango (ranked 5614 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Angel Bango was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jason Ventura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Angel Bango!
The judges for this bout are Santiago Holmes, Bart Greer and Sandra Marshall.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bango is looking to clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bango.
Bango misses with a head kick.
Ventura is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Ventura throws out a loose jab but Bango uses good head movement to avoid it.
Bango lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ventura circles away quickly and effectively.
Bango dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Bango throws a head kick that misses.
Ventura is looking to counter punch.
The fight stays on the outside here - Bango looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Ventura drops down looking for a counter takedown but Bango sprawls and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Ventura stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Ventura wants it to stay on the feet.
Bango closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ventura circles away.

Bango uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Ventura.
As Ventura backs off Bango throws a huge counter combo but Ventura manages to avoid it all.
Bango shoots in looking for a takedown but Ventura manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Bango's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Ventura lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Bango has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Bango and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Bango cracks Ventura with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.
Ventura slaps away a takedown attempt from Bango, before circling back to the center of the mat.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Bango fails with an attempt to clinch.
Ventura half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Bango looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Ventura throws a shot from downtown. Bango moves away and avoids it.

and Ventura counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Bango!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Ventura wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Bango, who protects the arm well.

Ventura is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Bango has escaped the position, nice work there.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ventura is working Bango over with some ground and pound from side control.

Bango takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Bango takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Ventura wants to control but Bango is keeping him busy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Bango appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.

Ventura keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
