The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ciprianni connects with a good right hand that stumbles Ra. Ra circles away out of range and recomposes himself.
Ciprianni has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Ra is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Ra connects with a body shot.
Ra thows a left - swing and a miss!
Ciprianni jabs Ra right on the nose. Ra blinks but takes it well.
Ra throws a right hand that misses
and Ciprianni counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Ra scores with a nice right hand.
Ra cracks a nice hook into Ciprianni's ribs.
Ra moves in looking to clinch but Ciprianni pushes him off.
Good leg kick by Ciprianni there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Ra dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Ra misses with a left hand
and Ra takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Ciprianni throws a solid leg kick but Ra takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Ciprianni.
Ra lands with an overhand left.

It looks like Danny Ciprianni has been cut.
Ciprianni lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
Ciprianni on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Ra misses with a looping left.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ra darts in trying to clinch
and Ciprianni counters with a straight right hand.
Ra staying out of range there.

Ra lands a left and a right that sends Ciprianni crashing to the canvas! Ra dives into mount looking to finish!

Ciprianni is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ra controlling from the full mount.
Ciprianni is still in real trouble! Can Ra finish him?
Ciprianni really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Ciprianni seems to have recovered his senses.
Ciprianni is bucking up trying to escape but Ra cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Ciprianni can't escape the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Ra working from mount. He moves in close and looks like he might be going for an arm triangle... He's hopped off to the side and he's transitioned into an Anaconda choke. Ciprianni turning a nasty shade of purple. He's refusing to tap but he's gone! He's out! The ref rips Ra off and cradles Ciprianni's limp body as Ra celebrates with his corner.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Anaconda Choke). The Sun God Ra!
In his post fight interview, The Sun God Ra started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
