And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 wins, 5 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Tokyo, Aspen Springfield!
The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.



The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James throws a combination that misses

and Springfield counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
James wants to improve his position but Springfield is controlling well.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Springfield blocks the strikes from James.
Springfield wants to pass to mount but James is defending the position.
James trying to control but Springfield postures up.
James wants to get back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Springfield has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, James has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Springfield is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but James has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Springfield has his hands clasped together but James extends and breaks Springfield's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by James.
