PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sam Kain (ranked 6525 p4p, 0 weight class) and Casey Clancy (ranked 6864 p4p, 0 weight class). Kain's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, 9mm go bang. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Radbod Blank and Albert Achterberg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clancy sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Clancy keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Clancy let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Kain avoids the head kick by Clancy.

Kain closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Clancy quickly recovers to half guard.
Kain perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Clancy is trying to get back to full guard.
Kain working the head and body with strikes.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kain escapes and gets back to his feet.

Kain moves into the clinch.

Kain has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Clancy uses from the top position.
Clancy must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Kain looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Kain is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Kain will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Clancy trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Clancy stands up over his opponent, looking to dive in with a big punch. Here he comes, superman style! Oh, the punch misses and Kain has got him in a triangle choke for good measure! Oh no! Clancy manages to get his head free but now Kain has transitioned to an armbar! Clancy grimaces and is forced to tap! Beautiful Jiu Jitsu from Kain! I'd be surprised if that didn't end up as submission of the night!
