Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve King (ranked 3613 p4p, 122 weight class) and Kadu Alves (ranked 24144 p4p, 319 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kadu Alves!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King moves into range and clinches up with Alves.
A battle for position here, against the cage.
I was talking to King's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
A frustrated look appears on Alves's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Alves looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Alves is trying to break free.
King lands a left hand that snaps the head of Alves backwards.
King tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
King is pressed up against the cage. Alves has hold of a leg and is looking to drag King down to the mat. King avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Alves tries to clinch up but King circles away and keeps his distance.
King misses with a double jab.
It seemed like Alves was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
King tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
King clinches up against the cage.
King connects with a nasty looking knee right to Alves's face.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, King creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
King blocks a body shot from Alves.
Alves avoiding damage.
King putting his Muay Thai to good use. He has Alves in a tight clinch and is doing some damage with knees to the body.

King rushes Alves and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

King unloads a knee to the mid-section. Alves lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.

Alves is still on wobbly legs! Can King finish him?
King lands a shot to the body.
Alves seems to have recovered his senses.
King makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
King lands a knee to the body.

King lands with a short head shot on the inside.
King lands a knee to the head there! That was nasty!
King gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
King tries to land a knee to the head but Alves blocks with his arms.

King throws a vicious knee straight up the middle but Alves blocks it with crossed arms.
Nice elbow from King.
A short right from King on the inside.
King scores with an uppercut up the middle.
King drops Alves with a big knee straight up the middle! Alves is covering up against the cage but manages to escape and gets back to his feet!
King pushes Alves up against the cage in a clinch.
Alves is trying to break the clinch but King is controlling him.
King with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
King lands a shoulder strike.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
King connects with a nasty looking knee right to Alves's face.
King has Alves pressed up against the cage in a tight Thai clinch. Alves is arching his back, trying to avoid the knees but a big one sneaks through from King - that's hurt Alves badly! Oh, another knee lands and Alves is covering up! The referee steps in to save him - possibly a bit early but Alves doesn't seem to be complaining.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knees). Steve King!
Steve King decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
