The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Emerson Jorge and Edson Gomes.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Guerrero closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Johnston tries to buck Guerrero off but Guerrero is having none of it.
I wouldn't like to be where Johnston is right now.
Johnston is looking to regain half guard here but Guerrero keeps moving and retains side control.
Guerrero is looking to take a break and control but Johnston is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Johnston is looking for a sweep.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Guerrero wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnston keeps working.

Guerrero shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Johnston is trying to defend but Guerrero finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Johnston is on top in guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Johnston gets to his feet - Guerrero follows without any prompting.

The fighters are battling for position here. Johnston manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Johnston pulls Guerrero in close to his closed guard and prevents Guerrero from doing any damage or advancing position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Guerrero misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Guerrero rushes Johnston and presses him up against the cage.

Johnston is pushing Guerrero up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Guerrero prevents a takedown attempt there.

Guerrero gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eduardo Guerrero showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!


Guerrero throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Johnston.


It looks like Salvatore Johnston has been cut.

Guerrero closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Johnston quickly recovers to half guard.

Johnston manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Guerrero keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Johnston has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.
Johnston on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Guerrero jumps guard.
Johnston has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Guerrero is proving hard to escape from.

Guerrero looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Johnston stands up from Guerrero's guard - Johnston perhaps looking for a knockout.
Guerrero takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Johnston fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Guerrero, pushing him back against the cage.
Guerrero gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Johnston.

Guerrero escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Johnston tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Guerrero is trying to counter with his kicks.

Guerrero looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Johnston slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Johnston wants to stand but Guerrero is controlling the position.
Guerrero wants to control from the top but Johnston keeps moving.
Johnston is pulling down on Guerrero's head to control his posture.
Guerrero looking to sit in guard and control but Johnston gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Johnston stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Guerrero drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Johnston bucks up and manages to escape back to his feet!

Guerrero closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Johnston sneaks out the side door and pushes Guerrero away - he's back to his feet. The crowd show their appreciation for the escape.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Eduardo Guerrero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A solid body kick from Johnston.
Johnston throws a nice head kick!

Johnston darts in and clinches Guerrero up against the cage.
Johnston taking a break, stalling in the clinch.

Guerrero has Johnston pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Guerrero pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Johnston tumbling to the mat - Guerrero dives into Johnston's guard.
Johnston manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Guerrero manages to get himself to full guard.


And that's the end of the fight!
Salvatore Johnston showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Guerrero has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
