The judges for this bout are Roger Salmon, Micheangelo Fripello and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mcgreggor misses with the combination.
Fernandez changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Fernandez really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Fernandez gets a takedown into half guard.
Fernandez stops Mcgreggor from getting back to his feet.

Mcgreggor manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Fernandez keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.

Mcgreggor breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Mcgreggor looking to score a takedown here. Fernandez is defending well but Mcgreggor drives through and ends up in Fernandez's guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fernandez is staying active underneath Mcgreggor, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Mcgreggor prevents Fernandez from standing back up.

Mcgreggor decides to return to a standing position.

Mcgreggor closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Mcgreggor remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.
Mcgreggor prevents Fernandez from escaping the position.

Mcgreggor wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Fernandez, who protects the arm well.
Mcgreggor is looking to take a break and control but Fernandez is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
