The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kovalev throws a sloppy head kick

so Bostin counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Bostin postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Kovalev is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Bostin, into his guard.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bostin is on top in guard.

Kovalev could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Bostin avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Bostin is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Kovalev wants to stand but Bostin has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Bostin looking to sweep here. No luck so far.

Kovalev stands over his opponent and dives in with a flying punch! Bostin throws up his legs and catches Kovalev in a triangle! Oh this looks tight! Kovalev tries to escape but he's forced to tap! Wow, fantastic work there by Bostin! That came out of nowhere!
