Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Strongius Shorticus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chris River (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). River has chosen A Country Boy Can Survive as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Chris River!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Eddie Farnsworth and Joseph Jones.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from River as Shorticus shoots in.

Shorticus looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for River!
Shorticus with shots to the head and body - River looks very uncomfortable down there.
River is trying desperately to improve position.
Shorticus blocks River's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom.
Shorticus controlling the position easily from mount.
River bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
River has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
River wants to stand but Shorticus is controlling his posture from full guard.
River with a flurry of punches that miss.
Shorticus trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
River passes Shorticus's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Shorticus connecting with a few gentle strikes.
Shorticus moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

River drops back looking for a leg! Shorticus is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Shorticus manages to kick River off! River jumps back into Shorticus's guard.
Shorticus thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Shorticus walks into a stiff left hand from River.
Nice takedown defense from River. No joy for Shorticus on that attempt.
Shorticus throws a body punch but River moves out of range.
Chris River is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Shorticus fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Strongius Shorticus. That's going to take a lot out of him.
River pulls out of a head kick attempt.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Shorticus on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Shorticus scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
Shorticus tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but River swivels and escapes.
Shorticus is breathing heavily.
River lands a head kick!
Shorticus takes a kick to the side of the head.

River connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
River lands with a hook. Shorticus tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Oh Shorticus is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Shorticus looks for a takedown but River sprawls well.
River fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Shorticus.
Shorticus seems to have got his legs back now.
River lands a monster head kick that reverborates around the arena! The crowd goes wild as Shorticus crumples to the floor! River milks the crowd's applause and if that isn't knockout of the night, I will be very surprised!
